We've been having some hot & sunny days here in Central Pa., and I thought it would be a good time to write about sunblock. We read an article last year about how some sunblocks contain chemicals that can cause cancer, and went on a quest for a more natural sunblock. According to an FDA study, one of the most common sunblock ingredients, Vitamin A, has been shown to speed the development of cancer. Most sunscreens also contain potential hormone disruptors and inadequate UVA protection.
After some research we got California Baby, and were happy with how it worked for Alex. I just found this link for Environmental Working Group's rating of sunblocks, and wanted to share it. California Baby is a mineral based sunblock using titanium dioxide. I like that it's also made in the U.S.A, in a recyclable #2 container and fragrance free. Check out your sunblock- how does it rate?
Things that make you go hummmmmm??
Thanks for the research and the website!

Thanks for the sunblock, Kylie! My buddy Kyle and I used it this past weekend. High elevation and cloudless skies makes it a neccesity!
It's also really cool to see that AB likes his finger puppets!
